Teachers College get timely scholarship support from South Pacific Pageant

Fourteen (14) female students from Sacred Heart Teacher’s College Bomana are successful candidates of the Miss Pacific Island Pageant (MPIP) Scholarship fund.

Finance Officer of Sacred Heart Teacher’s College, Ms. Herieth Wasina, said that this scholarship will help the female students to complete their studies.

Fourteen female students from Sacred Heart Teacher’s College, now have the support to complete their studies to become primary school teachers.

“We are fortunate to have education being placed as a high priority by our sponsor,” said Ms. Wasina.

A majority of the students come from remote parts of the country and are the potential teachers who will go back to their villages to teach.

Francisca John, a recipient of the Miss Pacific Island Pageant Scholarship, comes from a family of eight.

This is her final year at Sacred Heart Teacher’s College, and she is grateful for the funds to help her finish her studies.

This year, the Miss Pacific Island Pageant PNG Scholarship program has assisted 54 young women.
