Schoolboys Ends Goroka Camp

The National Elite Schoolboys Camp atthe National SportInstitute in Goroka has been completed.

The boys returned totheir regions on Thursday after four days of tough training regimes, fitness and endurance.

These schoolboys and coaches have performed well with outstanding resultsPNG Rugby League Foundation Strength and Conditioning Coach Jason Tassel was impressed withthe level of performance and commitment displayed atthe camp.

He saysthey’ve tracked few boys running at top speeds of over 34 kilometers in an hour. This showthe boys have developedtheir speed considerably over time.

The boys were also tested for alertness and fitness andthey continue to get better with every camp.

Elite Player Manager Shane Morris says, improverments displayed by schoolboys have graspedthe fundamentals of rugby league.

The camps always get better every session withtheir grip, catch and pass techniques. Morris said,the boys need to ensure thatthe high standards set at camps must be taken back home and make those standardstheir own and continue to practice.
