Planned 4-mile Casino won’t eventuate: OO’Neill

Prime Minister Peter O’Neill announced in parliament recently, thatthe planned Casino located at 4mile inthe nation’s capital may not eventuate.

However, he saidthe government would like to seethe building completed and used for ther purposes.

His answer came following questions raised by NCD Governor Powes Parkop onthe status ofthe construction.

The Prime Ministersain PNG is not ready for a Casino.  He said a casino license and amendment Act must be established first.

At presentthe government is not ready to present anything to parliament.

“NEC will now revisitthe decision ofthe Casino approval that was given. There are a lot of commitments that has been made in terms of this project but has not been fulfilled so I will say thatthe likelyhood of it not continuing is very high,” says O’Neill.

Meantime, concerns were also raised thatthe structure ofthe building was below standard.

The government will give shareholders a chance to propose howthey can complete buildingthe structure.
