Tuberculosis and cancer in the country is growing rapidly, and creating and carrying out awareness on these sicknesses is one of the Health Department’s main agendas.
One way to do that is through the media by programs and of course news.
The media has become not only an avenue for entertainment but for news and awareness.
Today, the Health Department with support from Petromin PNG Holdings Limited, presented a cheque of K49, 500, to Media Niugini Limited, towards awareness efforts of the Health Department addressing TB and cancer through EMTV’s Haus & Home program.
Board Chairman of Petromin Holdings said the Health Department is struggling to meet the needs of the people and by assisting the Health Department improvements can be achieved.
Representing the Health Department, Ken Wai, also said the department needed the support of everyone and thanked Petromin and EMTV with their support.
TB and Cancer awareness by the Health Department on EMTV is set to start this month on the Haus & Home program which airs every Tuesday night.
