Speaking in Buang, Morobe Governor Ginson Saonu said the province has performed poorly in Education.

According to him, past two decades have seen decline in national examination results.

He said Morobe’s Education Reform aims at helping students to read, write and speak better English in early childhood.

Governor Saonu, says objectives of the initiative include financial literacy, character development, personal health and viability, and instilling Christian values.

Governor Saonu, a teacher himself, stated that Morobe used to produce top elites-including late Sir Manasupe Zurenuoc in both the private and public sectors.

With his initiative, he believes the province will reclaim its old glory.

According to him, past two decades have seen the province’s performance in the national examinations results poor.

Saonu said in light of the political stability in the province, he had already been pushing for a partnership program between the provincial government and the nine districts.

Huon Gulf, Lae, Naweab and Markham DDAs have already entered into partnership with his government to mobilize funds to develop the province, he said.
