Counting For Western Highlands Province Deferred

Counting for Western Highlands Province has been deferred to tomorrow morning due to non-payments of the presiding officer’s allowances.

This has affected the returning of ballot boxes for some electorates.

Tambul-Nebilyer Electorate have all their returns.

Dei Electorate returned 75 per cent of the ballot boxes.

Hagen Open have returned most of the boxes, but few are still with some presiding officers.

For Mul-Baiyer Lumusa, Mul Council have returned at least 95 per cent of the boxes, Lumusa returned all the boxes while for Baiyer River, they are yet to be returned.

The Provincial Election Steering Committee are urging supporters of candidates to respect the electoral process during the counting.
