The Conference of Parties or COP 23 UN Climate Change Conference will officially be opened tomorrow Tuesday 6th November in Bonn, Germany.

EMTV is being represented by award-winning Olsem Wanem Host and Producer, Florence Jonduo.

Today, the Climate planet was launched which will be on showcase for the duration of the COP23. It is a structure that has a 40-minute tour of a gigantic globe (24 metres in diameter and standing 20 metres tall, touted to be higher than a 5-storey building).

Towards the interior, a smaller globe takes visitors on a climate journey through the Earth’s past, present and future.

The Climate Planet signifies that regardless of national, geographical boundaries or development status, climate change will affect everyone as all life is connected to one planet, Earth.

COP 23 President and Fijian Prime Minister, Frank Bainimarama, emphasised during the launching of the climate planet that people remain to be the main threat to the health of the planet.

Reiterating the importance of climate action was German Development Minister, Dr Gerd Muller, who said it is each and every persons responsibility to push climate action and stop deforestation and encourage reforestation.

Over twenty thousand people are expected to attend COP 23 over the next two weeks in Bonn, Germany, Uniting for Climate Action.
